I wish you well and welcome you on your journey to joining me as a Professional Project Manager!

If you think back over the past, say, 100 years, then much like me you would be able to draw up a list of five or 10 significant achievements.  And by achievements I mean those undertakings that have affected the lives of yourself or others.

Go no further than the kitchen and immediately be automated washing machine and microwave are great examples.  Think within the field of travel and immediately by car and aeroplane comes to mind, not to mention the infrastructure of roads and motorways.

Just considering the IT industry, and the microprocessor, personal computer, mobile phone, and the world wide web immediately comes to mind.

My point here is that just like planning your annual vacation, all of the above came about by some form of project.

Fast forward to today, and we find our lives are filled with not adjust the larger and more significant projects like those mentioned above by a projects of all shapes and sizes within any industry you care to name.

Inventions certainly don’t need projects as they may just be the result of trial and error and dedication from one or more individuals.  But it has been established that using a project is the best way for organisations to develop and change.

I have developed many project management training products and these are available online from my websites.  It just so happens that I have used WordPress to design these websites, but I would never call myself a web designer.

In the same way an individual may have a job and a career in a particular industry, and to ensure that they are successful they turn their hand to the various skills and knowledge of project management.  There is nothing wrong with that, and I had such an individual in mind when designing this project management primer to help them become successful.

But there are other individuals who find that the challenge and thrill of managing projects learns them to become full time project managers either within their organisation or as a ‘hired gun’!

If the above appeals, then you too will find my project management primer an excellent introduction to the art and science of project management.

I wish you well on your chosen path and sincerely hope that you enjoy my project management primer and the many articles and I will be adding to this website.
